Cheese board with Trader Joe's Banana Date Nut Bread Crisps

Coming off of the success of our holiday Fruit & Nut (& Other Stuff) Crisps, which were based loosely on a traditional fruitcake, our latest curious crisp creation takes its inspiration from yet another iconic baked good: the homey, humble, but always formidable, banana nut bread.

Indeed, Trader Joe’s Banana Date Nut Bread Crisps combine the sweet (but not too sweet) flavor profile of classic banana bread with the satisfying crunch of a cracker. To make each package of Banana Date Nut Bread Crisps, our supplier starts with a loaf of banana bread, made with a recipe that includes dried banana pieces, almonds, walnuts, pecans, and date pieces (all of which are sourced directly from growers).

After being baked, these loaves are then cut into thin slices (just under ¼ of an inch thick), and then baked again, for maximum crispness. The results speak (or should we say, crunch) for themselves: each bite starts off super crisp, then becomes pleasantly chewy, imparting flavors of banana and baking spice all the while.

With their understated fruitiness and superlative crunch, these Crisps make an excellent companion to nut butters and preserves (or both!). But we also recommend pairing them with cream cheeses, spreads, and even mild, soft cheeses like our Triple Creme Brie.

We’re selling each 5.3-ounce package of Trader Joe’s Banana Date Nut Bread Crisps for the oh-so-appealing price of $3.99, every day. You’ll find them in our snack section.
